My current investing setup and current thinking.
What I hold
Core: A rotating βTop Ten Basketβ of momentum stocks
Satellite: A few individual names where the thesis is strong
Cash: Dry powder ready for Green signals
The current thesis
TMad finds the top trending momentum stocks that I buy and hold for 10 days, while my custom Claude skill double-checks the daily indices and delivers a simple Green/Amber/Red verdict before I enter a new Top Ten Basket.
What Iβm eyeing next
Tweaking my Claude skill by combining it with Richards investing one so it pulls cleaner context from TMad, layers in my risk rules, and makes the verdict even faster.
Richardβs skills packs shine because theyβre built to be customised to exactly how you work.
Anyone else running momentum baskets or using AI to stay disciplined on entries?
Been down a rabbit hole on TMAD since your post, and here's where I landed: you could probably rebuild most of your use of it as a Claude skill.
TMAD looks to be three things stacked. The data: daily prices on 1,000+ stocks, plus options flow / GEX / IV skew. That part is licensed and expensive, and it's the real moat. The score: a momentum ranking on a 14-day horizon. That part is closer to commodity math than they'd like, since trailing returns, breakouts, and relative strength on free daily data gets you a top ten. And the always-on infrastructure, which for you is just a scheduled Cowork task running each morning.
So for your specific setup (a daily-data top-ten basket on a 10-day rotation) a skill with free price data gets you ~80% of the way and saves you $500 a year. What you'd lose is their published backtest. Naive momentum with no track record vs their claimed 73% hit rate is a real trade-off, not a free lunch. And if you ever want the options-flow side, keep paying, because you can't rebuild that.
But notice what you're already doing. Your skill started as the entry gate, now it's pulling TMAD's context, next it's layering in your risk rules. You're eating the tool from the edges. Endgame is TMAD as a dumb data feed and Claude owning every decision. Whoever owns the decision layer owns the workflow.
I might steal that line for a newsletter issue ha.
