Hey,

Last issue I was about to sell you a Grok bot.

Instead I killed the entire business.

Redundant is gone. The site is down and the domain is listed on Atom.

Here's the honest reason. I said it last issue about the Grok bot: a product that copies itself for nothing is worth nothing. That applies to everything else I was selling too. The packs worked, people installed them and got results. But the thing being sold was a file, and files have stopped being scarce. Building a business on top of that is a countdown, not a moat.

Domains are where I'm putting the time now. I'm taking it seriously because I can finally see a path to a full time income from it, albeit a long one. One of the top domain investors I know owns 3,000 names, and my Domain Grok Bot reckons I need at least 500–1,000 solid names for my strategy to work. It watches the auctions overnight and hands me a top 5 to bid on at 8am every morning.

This newsletter is back where it started, at news.richardpatey.com, and the community is Patey Club again over at news.richardpatey.com/community, with channels for biznass, domains, poker and the rest. Pro in there is now the only thing I have to sell you.

I'm also going deep on padel, specifically the B2B side, where I've been posting on LinkedIn and building a following. One post hit 190K impressions.

But the thing I'm most excited about is what I've spent the last week building in Codex. It's the kind of web app I always wanted to build and never could as a non technical ape. Launching soon.

AI killed my AI business. Then handed me a better one.

Cheers,
Richard
